Waste Elimination

Many silo cleaning methods utilize high pressure water to break up build-up on Silo walls, resulting in substantial quantities of waste. This wet run-off waste can be environmentally damaging and must be collected for proper disposal, increasing the overall cost of cleaning the silo.

The SCS process uses dry, pressurized air that not only eliminates waste run-off, it enables most of the cleaned material to be recovered.

Saving Time

Cleaning silos with pressurized water can be a long process. Disposal of the wet waste and the time needed for the silo to dry, before it can be used again, further add to the overall time required for the process. Other techniques such as whips, avoid using water, but can be very slow.

SCS's unique dry air cleaning process provides remarkable cleaning results in a very short time. Our process utilizes specialized cleaning heads to help break up silo build-up. As no water is used, there is little or no waste to remove and silos can be returned to operation immediately after the cleaning process is complete.

Cost Savings

The SCS cleaning process provides storage operators with a number of ways to save costs. The lightweight and portable equipment used in the process reduces set up time. The process also allows crews to clean several silos simultaneously, thereby reducing the man-hours required for the operation.

SCS's reduced cleaning time ensures that silo down-time time is minimized. Compressed air used with the SCS process also eliminates the large quantities of water needed with pressurized water cleaning methods

Enhance Safety

SCS provides an increased level of safety over other silo cleaning methods that require entry into the silo. With the SCS process, cleaning crews remain outside the silo throughout the entire process, thereby eliminating the dangers and risks associated with these cleaning methods. Crews operating at the top of the storage container also maintain continuous two-way radio contact with the crew located near the air compressor.

Environmentally Friendly

Conventional pressurized water cleaning methods require large quantities of water to clean the interior of silos, resulting in large volumes of waste from the mixing of water and the silo contents. Generally, this material must be carefully disposed of in accordance with local environmental regulations.

The SCS process is environmentally friendly, using dry, pressurized air rather than water. This allows the silo contents to be recovered, without damage to the container or the contents, and eliminates all of the issues associated with waste disposal.

Versatility

SCS maintains a highly experienced cleaning field staff along with an in-house professional engineer. This enables SCS to provide solutions for standard cleaning projects as well as custom solutions for a variety of non-standard storage hoppers, bins and silos.

Engineering Evaluation

The SCS engineering team evaluates each project before it begins. This ensures that your storage container will be cleaned in the most efficient and effective manner.

The engineering team is also available to consult you on best practices for maintaining your storage containers at maximum efficiency. The SCS team can advise you on proper preventative maintenance procedures as well as regular cleaning schedules
